Byron Burns, as our President, brings over 20 years of senior-level experience and is ultimately responsible for the strategic direction of the Company. Joining our family in 2014, Byron has helped bring the proper resources to provide superior customer service and shape the core values of CRS, which include doing meaningful work, making a positive difference, and caring about all aspects of the public safety industry. Byron has held multiple leadership roles in various NENA and APCO chapters, including being the current Commercial Advisor for NC APCO and on the conference committee for VA APCO. Byron believes in generously giving back which includes an annual scholarship program for ENP and RPL certifications and is currently an ENP himself. Prior to leading Carolina Recording Systems, Byron Co-Founded Red Iron Partners, which invests in and supports small businesses like Carolina Recording Systems.

Ethan Campbell

Recording Systems Specialist

Ethan is one of our most experienced Recording System Specialists. Ethan serves as a leading member in our project delivery and after-hours support teams by providing leadership and support. By supporting our project delivery teams, Ethan’s guidance and assistance ensures that all our services are completed according to our high standards and any issues are addressed and resolved immediately. Ethan’s ability to work shoulder to shoulder with each member of our team shines through as he runs system supplies and troubleshoots analog and network connectivity issues. Savio Fernandes

Recording Systems Support Specialist

With over 16 years of experience in IT, Project Management, and Incidence and Response, Savio is a great addition to the CRS family. Whether he is working as part of our helpdesk or after-hours support teams, performing onsite troubleshooting, or supporting internal and client initiatives, we know Savio will always deliver his best. His hybrid skills allow him to easily transition between working coordinate schedules for our onsite troubleshooting teams and resolving client issues on our support teams. Since 2017 Savio has been an integral member of our team providing tailored technical support and maintaining a detailed understanding of the latest recording technologies and solutions for all our valued clients.

Taylor Horney

Controller

As Carolina Recording System’s Financial Controller, Taylor’s attention to detail and management experience has contributed to the overall success of our organization. Whether working on the day-to-day financial tasks or setting budgetary and accountancy policies that govern our financial management, Taylor has ensured all compliance and regulatory requirements are met. Accuracy, quality, and security are always top priority and Taylor’s ability to develop, manage, and implement policies and procedures exemplifies these qualities. Whether it is managing our inventory, payroll, expenses, or cash management, Taylor recognizes the importance of these functions and makes sure we’re always able to offer high-quality and professional services to each of our clients.

Cliff Kimsey

Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Bringing over 14 years of experience, Cliff initially began his career at CRS in 2007 and rose to become our Chief Technology Officer. As a member of our senior team, Charles oversees the development and execution of all our technical training programs for both our internal employees as well as all our clients. By partnering with our technical teams, Charles helps to determine the optimal tools, applications, and technologies that best support the business of CRS as well as those of our clients. Charles’ responsibilities also include the development of our system implementation standards, quality assurance process, as well as evaluating new technologies that become part of our recording system solutions.

Wade Lambert

Recording Systems Technician

As a Recording Systems Technician here at CRS, Wade has demonstrated his ability to quickly learn and understand the technical requirements to properly install, maintain, and troubleshoot emergency communication solutions. As a member of our project delivery and system implementation teams, Wade works directly with our clients to ensure their needs and expectations are properly met, regardless of the project. Whether he is working as part of our after-hours support team, or onsite working directly with a client, the work done by Wade exemplifies Carolina Recording System’s values of providing meaningful work and making a difference in the lives of our clients.

Christopher Molina

Recording Systems Specialist

While being a newer addition to the Carolina Recording System’s family, Christopher brings over 10 years of public safety experience to the team while providing direct support of our critical communication system to each of our clients. Christophers’ experience in roles ranging from emergency medical technician to communication center director helps him excel in every aspect of his role. Whether he is providing outstanding service remotely or partnering with our clients to address and resolve any problem impacting their recording capabilities, Christopher is an outstanding addition to our talented support team and the CRS family.

Andy Phillips

Having spent over 13 years as a field service technician, Andy brings valuable technical understanding and experience to his role as a recording systems remote specialist. Andy’s leadership on the project delivery team is exemplified by his guidance and mentorship as he assists team members in all activities related to project delivery. Regardless of the task, Andy’s attention to detail and passion for technology makes him a key member of the CRS family. Whether he is configuring NAS systems, or troubleshooting connectivity issues, Andy brings a level of professionalism and dedication easily recognized by our clients and team members.

With over 10 years of technical support and design experience, Ryan’s ability to identify, address and resolve client technical issues help him excel as a recording system support specialist here at CRS. By partnering with clients to ensure all issues are communicated, updated, resolved properly, Ryan delivers personalized service to each of our clients. While working alongside our other certified support specialists as part of the helpdesk or after-hours remote support teams, Ryan’s experience and technological understanding helps him improve any team that he’s a part of. His passion for bridging the communication gap between end-users and developers by breaking down technical jargon into easy-to-understand and digestible concepts ensures all our clients understand the services they receive and are supported every step of the way.

With a strong desire to see the emergency response service industry evolve with advancing technologies, Victor’s experience of over 40 years in the industry, including his former role as a 911 director, is an invaluable addition to the CRS family. Victor’s ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with our current and future clients ensures that key decision-makers are involved and informed to ensure that every step of our service and technology meets their needs. Whether interacting with clients over the phone or providing onsite demonstrations, Victor and the rest of our sales account management team continues to deliver excellent service every time.

Jim Wiseman

With over 20 years of network, support, and field service engineering, Jim’s passion for providing the highest quality service on every team he is a part of. Jim’s experience with providing technical support directly to field engineers and customers while installing emergency service technologies has made him a valuable member of the CRS family. While guiding and assisting members of the implementation team, Jim has repeatedly demonstrated his understanding of the recording solutions supported by CRS including Eventide and Verint. Whether on the after-hours support team or working onsite manually configuring client equipment, Jim provides high-quality service and support no matter what he does.

Melinda Wood

Chief of Staff

As our Chief of Staff, Melinda has been promoting customer satisfaction and company growth by maximizing our people, processes, and operations for over 6 years. Melinda is responsible for developing processing and tools that improve project delivery, support capabilities, and educate team members to ensure processes are followed properly. She is the glue that connects our Sales, Engineering, HR, and Finance teams together. Melinda is at the heart of Carolina Recording Systems. By recruiting, hiring, managing, and training at every level within our company, our Chief of Staff ensures that each team has the right people, operations, and processes in place to maximize our team’s resources and productivity.

Wade Smull

As a former Communications Chief in the US Army with over 20 years of experience, Wade has joined the CRS family as a recording systems support specialist. His experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting communication systems makes him an integral and invaluable member of our team. As a member of our remote system implementation team, Wade provides guidance and support for all other team members while assisting in all things related to issue resolution. Whether he is onsite, or remotely troubleshooting various issues, Wade’s passion for technology, leadership, and attention to detail shines through in everything that he does.
